The end of the autumn assessment
Our fish farmers have completed the autumn assessment of sturgeon species. Autumn assessment of the broodstock and replacement fish stock is carried out at a water temperature below 12°C. During autumn assessment, females and males are selected at the fourth stage of maturity. For the selection of females, it is optimal to use the method of determining the maturity stages of the gonads using ultrasound. If you do not have your own ultrasound scanner, you should select fish based on the results of a biopsy study of the gonads.
